We gather from 8 to 13 November 2026 in the heart of Bwabwata National Park: a place where the pace softens, the nervous system can settle and nature becomes a generous teacher.
If you are living with overwhelm, fatigue or the constant weight of difficult news, you may be asking how to stay grounded, hopeful and at ease in your own life again.
This retreat offers both the space and the tools to find a haven of peace within yourself, and the practices you need to recover, restore and carry your inner balance home.

Guided by Hella Göbel, the retreat is built on the foundation of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, supported by four gentle and practical pillars.
You will gain practical tools for nervous-system regulation, resilience and long-term wellbeing — not as theory, but as lived experience.

A quiet opening circle as the light softens. Step out of ordinary life, arrive in the wild and begin making space for stillness.

Mindfulness, Deep Rest, forest bathing and self-compassion are woven through morning and afternoon game drives, boat cruises on the Kwando, bush walks and long siestas.

Barefoot sundowners at Horseshoe Lagoon, a bush dinner on a private island, an expressive art experience at The Sijwa Project and moments of shared silence.

A closing ceremony to gather the journey, honour what has shifted and carry home the practices that will continue to support you.
The Inner Balance Retreat

Namibian-born Hella Göbel is a mindfulness teacher devoted to helping people meet life with greater presence, self-compassion and calm.
Her work is informed by Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, developed by Professor Jon Kabat-Zinn, as well as training in forest bathing with the German Forest Bathing Academy, Deep Rest with Nicole Stern and Trauma Informed Yoga with Dr Arielle Schwartz.
Hella’s gift is creating a gentle, non-judgemental space where participants can slow down, listen inwardly and reconnect with their own innate capacity for ease.
As Founder and Managing Director of African Monarch Journeys and Retreats in the Wild, Tinolla brings more than three decades of exceptional African hospitality to every retreat she creates.
A certified ThetaHealing practitioner, she understands that transformation is supported by the environment around it: nature, beauty, thoughtful care and the safety to soften.
At Nambwa, Tinolla holds the space around the work — ensuring every guest can settle into the rhythm of the wilderness and let the journey unfold at its own pace.

Nambwa’s elevated design, wide-open views and intimate scale create a rare sense of privacy, stillness and safety in the wild.
Excluded: Flights to and from Namibia, transfers to Nambwa, comprehensive travel insurance, personal expenses, gratuities and optional activities.
